Senate Bill 449, introduced by State Senators E. J. Pipkin (R-36) and David Brinkley (R-4), would restore the right of self-defense in Maryland and eliminate the requirement that a victim retreat from a violent attacker. This “Castle Doctrine” legislation is vital to protecting law-abiding citizens from being criminally prosecuted for protecting themselves or their family.
