On Thursday, May 10, the Missouri House of Representatives Special Committee on Agriculture Business will consider Senate Bill 225, sponsored by State Senator Bill Stouffer. SB225, the Hunting Heritage Protection Areas Act, will protect some of our nation's most critical wildlife habitats and hunting areas by prohibiting certain development, as well as prohibiting localities from restricting the lawful discharge of firearms within the protected areas.
Please contact your State Representative at (573) 751-3824 and strongly encourage him or her to support and vote for SB225 without any amendments!
Also, after more than two hours of floor debate in the Missouri Senate on “Castle Doctrine” self-defense legislation, Senate Bill 62, the Senate requested that this critically important legislation be referred to a conference committee. The Missouri House of Representatives has agreed to a conference committee and we should know shortly when the committee will meet. NRA is working diligently with our allies in both chambers to ensure final passage of SB62. We will continue to inform you of any developments, as well as to alert you to any efforts that you can undertake to assist with moving this measure forward.
