The motivation behind a brutal assault in Oregon has yet to be
determined. According to police, a man answered a knock at his front
door and quickly found himself under attack by a stranger wielding a
collapsible metal baton. The intruder beat the victim on his head
and back, while yelling that he was going to kill the man as they
fought throughout the first floor of the two-story dwelling. The
victim managed to break free and run to his upstairs bedroom. It was
there that he grabbed a 12-gauge shotgun and turned the tables. He
shot the intruder at least twice, killing him.
