Oklahoma Emergency Powers Legislation to be Heard in Committee!

Friday, February 17, 2006

Please Contact Members Today!

In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, government officials in Louisiana confiscated legal, privately-owned firearms from law-abiding citizens.  This left citizens defenseless against armed looters and other criminals.

We need your help to make sure this never happens in Oklahoma!

On Monday, February 20, the House Public Safety and Homeland Security Committee will hear House Bill 2696, sponsored by Representative Trebor Worthen (R-87).  HB 2696, will eliminate any threat of restrictions being imposed on lawful uses of firearms or ammunition during a state of emergency.  Please contact members of the House Public Safety and Homeland Security Committee and respectfully ask him or her to support HB 2696.

All members of the Oklahoma House can be reached (800) 522.8502
