A coalition of law enforcement groups with the aid of Attorney General Mark Bennett, have proposed a ban on the sale and possession of .50 BMG rifles and ammunition.
If passed, SB 2579, will immediately ban the sale and possession of all currently owned .50 caliber BMG rifles and ammunition and will require gun owners to turn their firearms into local law enforcement, remove it from the State or have it destroyed.
These guns, which are commonly used for hunting and sporting purposes, have been demonized in the press and by anti-gun organizations that are only looking for the next gun control scheme.
It is vital that NRA members, hunters, and the pro-gun community call their State Representatives and State Senators in opposition of SB 2579. To contact your State Legislator please call the capitol switchboard at (808) 586-2211.
