Utah Bill Will Open Antelope Island to Hunting

Monday, February 28, 2005

A bill has been introduced in Utah that will open Antelope State Park to hunting.  SB 187 would allow the Utah Wildlife Board to issue a limited number of permits to hunt deer, bighorn sheep and bison on the 28,000-acre state park.  Antelope Island is a rugged wilderness area that will provide a quality hunting experience for those who draw a tag. There is no biological reason that regulated hunting shouldn`t be allowed on the island.  Members should call their Representative and Senator and urge them to support this legislation.
