NRA-PVF Endorses Blunt for Governor of Missouri

Tuesday, October 5, 2004

FAIRFAX, VA --

The National Rifle Association’s Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) has endorsed Matt Blunt, long-time advocate of gun owners and sportsmen, for Governor of Missouri. NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre and Chief Lobbyist Chris W. Cox announced NRA’s support of Blunt at a series of rallies across Missouri on October 5th.

"Matt Blunt’s commitment to protecting the rights of Missouri’s law-abiding gun owners has earned him an ‘A’ rating and NRA’s endorsement," said LaPierre. "We urge all NRA members, law-abiding gun owners and sportsmen to support him at the polls on November 2nd."

"Matt Blunt’s record as a defender of freedom makes him the clear choice for the people of Missouri," added Cox. "As a member of the Missouri House of Representatives and as Secretary of State, Matt has been instrumental in defeating gun control legislation and passing gun rights bills. He has openly stated his support for Right-to-Carry, ensuring that law-abiding citizens can protect themselves and their families from criminal attack."

"Missouri citizens need a Governor who will strongly and consistently safeguard the Second Amendment, as well as our outdoor and hunting heritage for future generations. It is vital that gun owners and sportsmen cast their vote for Matt Blunt," concluded LaPierre.
