Missouri Senate Passes Right To Carry

Tuesday, May 6, 2003

Thanks to all your hard work and phone calls--Right to Carry in Missouri is one step away from becoming law. The Missouri State Senate passed Right to Carry on Monday, May 5, by a vote of 23-7. House Bill 349, sponsored by Representative Larry Crawford (R-117), would establish a system for Missouri residents to obtain concealed carry permits.  For the first time, any law-abiding citizen who takes a training course, would receive a permit to carry a concealed firearm for personal protection.

Despite the overwhelming support of HB 349 in the Missouri Legislature, Governor Bob Holden (D) is considering vetoing this important bill. Please contact the Governor`s office, and respectfully urge him to "SUPPORT" HB 349, by granting Missouri’s law-abiding citizens the same right to self protection that citizens already have in 35 other states.

In order to make sure HB 349 gets the signature it needs, please use the following information to contact Governor Holden:

Missouri Capitol Building, Room 216

Telephone: (573) 751-3222      Email: mogov@mail.state.mo.us      FAX: (573) 751-1495

It is up to you -- Do not let your Right to Carry perish on Governor Holden`s desk!
