Critics of what turned into an impossibly complex and costly license and registry system hope a scathing report by Auditor-General Sheila Fraser will be yet another turning point?a reason to kill the project altogether. The ballooning price tag and the revelations that the true costs were kept from Parliament led yesterday to calls by the opposition and, more damning, by backbench Liberal MPs for the resignations of Allan Rock and Anne McLellan, the two justice ministers on whose watch the "fiasco" occurred.
