Baltimore cab driver Gaetamo DeSales was reaching into his money bag to give change to one of his two teenage fares when the rider in the back seat suddenly started beating him over the head with brass knuckles. Despite the assault, DeSales managed to extract a pistol hidden in the cash pouch and shot both robbers, wounding one and killing the other. No charges are contemplated against DeSales.
