A Seguin, Tex., nurse, awakened when something bumped her
bed, discovered a man wearing a stocking over his head. He
threatened to kill her and her young son if she did not submit to
him. Pretending to get a tissue from the nightstand, she instead
extracted a pistol and shot him. The would-be rapist grappled with
the woman, trying to turn the gun on her, but she stopped the
attack, seriously injuring him with two more shots.
Established in 1975, the Institute for Legislative Action (ILA) is the "lobbying" arm of the National Rifle Association of America.
