Alexander Childs, 10, was tending his chores on a fishery managed by his father near Kamay, Tex., when set upon by a pair of 125-lb. Doberman pinschers. As the dogs mauled him and knocked him into a ditch, the boy's screams alerted his father who brought a rifle from the house and felled the animals with a single shot each. Local authorities credited Childs' action with saving his son's life.
