Late-night noises outside the bedroom window awakened Gary Whipple of Houma, La. Investigating, he discovered two persons prowling around the rear of his home. When Whipple yelled and the prowlers ran toward him, he fired a warning. One man surrendered, dropping to the ground while his accomplice escaped. The homeowner held the man at bay for police, who caught the other shortly thereafter.
