Kay Clayton was at home with her two small children when she
heard an intruder breaking into her Mira, La., house. She grabbed a
.357 Mag. revolver and confronted the man, who was armed with a
pistol and a knife. When he started toward her, she fired once,
killing him on the spot. Police said the man was a convicted child
rapist from Missouri.
