Dennis Gray had kept a rusty old .38 in his hall closet for
almost 30 years, long enough for the ammunition to start to corrode
in the cylinder. But when a burglar broke down the door of his San
Diego, Calif., home, the gun did its part. Gray opened up, hitting
the criminal in the neck and putting him to flight.
Established in 1975, the Institute for Legislative Action (ILA) is the "lobbying" arm of the National Rifle Association of America.
