Mary Markham was willing to hand over cash to two criminals
who burst into her Mount Clemens, Mich., liquor store. But when one
robber put a pistol to her son's head and his partner opened fire on
her husband, she had to take action. Grabbing a pair of pistols,
she loosed a fusillade of shots at the crooks, killing both. A
police officer on the scene noted that one robber was hit three
times and the other five, commenting, "that's pretty good shooting
from two hands--for anyone."
