Barack Obama Encourages Supporters to Lie About His Gun Ban Record

In an appearance in Nevada, anti-gun presidential candidate Barack Obama told his followers:

”I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors.  I want you to talk to them whether they are independent or whether they are Republican.  I want you to argue with them and get in their face,” he said.

“And if they tell you that, ‘Well, we’re not sure where he stands on guns.’  I want you to say, ‘He believes in the Second Amendment.’

omatch quizNew Feature On GunBanObama.com—Take the OMatch Quiz:  As we enter the home stretch of this year’s critically important election, two things are certain:  First, the winner of the election will have a profound effect on your Second Amendment rights, and second, to make an informed decision, you need to be informed.  It’s crucial that you know where the candidates stand on the Second Amendment so that you can make the right choice.

One thing we do know:  If elected, Barack Obama would be the most anti-gun president in American history.  Obama says "words matter."  But when it comes to your Second Amendment rights, he refuses to speak honestly about where he stands.  He hides behind carefully chosen words and vague statements of support for sportsmen and gun rights to sidestep and camouflage the truth.

But his real record, based on votes taken, political associations, and long standing positions, shows that Barack Obama is a serious threat to our Second Amendment liberties.  Don't listen to his campaign rhetoric!  Look instead to what he has said and done during his entire political career.

FBI’s Crime Report Bad News for Anti-Gunners:  This week, the FBI released its crime report for 2007 and, once again, gun control supporters are taking it on the chin.

Another Way To Get Involved And Make A Difference: The November issue of your NRA magazine will contain your NRA-PVF Political Preference Chart that will tell you where the candidates—federal and state—really stand so that you, your family, and friends can make informed choices at the polls Nov. 4th.

On the front cover of your October NRA magazine is the name and contact information for your NRA-ILA Election Volunteer Coordinator (EVC)—a fellow NRA member who has committed his time and effort to spearhead our volunteer campaign activities in your congressional district between now and the closing of the polls on Election Day, November 4th.

Time Is Running Out To Register To Vote!  One of the simplest, yet most important, things gun owners can do this election season is ensure they are currently registered to vote.  Our vote is our voice; if we don’t use it, we will lose it!  We can’t afford to let others decide for us who will represent our interests in Washington or in the state legislatures.  Many states voter registration deadlines expire 30 days prior to Election Day (November 4th), so time is running out!

Absentee Voting:  Bank Your Vote—Assist On Election Day!  With more states than ever allowing early and absentee voting, it is critical that those pro-gun voters who think there may even be a chance they won’t be able to vote in person on November 4th, ensure they vote via absentee ballot.  By banking your vote prior to November 4th, not only will you avoid potentially long lines, but you will also be freed up to assist with the Election Day activities of pro-gun candidates in your area!

D.C. Second Amendment Enforcement Act Passes House, Moves to Senate:  This week, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to approve the NRA-backed “Second Amendment Enforcement Act” by an overwhelming bi-partisan vote of 266-152.  The Act, passed as an amendment to H.R. 6842, will overturn the District of Columbia’s gun control restrictions that defy the recent Supreme Court ruling by continuing to limit D.C. residents’ right to self-defense.  This bill is necessary to enforce the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in District of Columbia v. Heller.

County St., 10th floor, in Waukegan.   Please make plans to attend this important meeting! PENNSYLVANIA: Ban on Pigeon Shooting Could be Voted on Soon!  As we have reported,State Representative Daylin Leach (D-149) is leading the charge for animal “rights” extremists in Pennsylvania.  Representative Leach has filed amendments to House Bill 1543.  The House could vote on these amendments next week!  Simply put, this legislation would criminalize and ban organized pigeon shoots in Pennsylvania by amending Title 18 ("Crimes and Offenses") of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes.  National "animal rights" extremist groups, led by the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), have organized and funded efforts in Pennsylvania and around the country to ban this longstanding traditional shooting sport.  Make no mistake; this isn't just about banning pigeon shooting, but banning all hunting species by species. Please contact Representative Leach TODAY and respectfully ask him to cease his attack on Pennsylvania’s sportsmen.  Representative Leach can be contacted by phone at (717) 783-9114, by fax at (717) 787-0861, or email [email protected].

TENNESSEE:  Please Submit Your Application Today for a Tennessee NRA Specialized License Plate!  The Tennessee specialized NRA license plate provides an ideal opportunity to showcase your pride as an NRA member and your steadfast dedication to preserving our cherished Second Amendment freedoms.  Your support of this program will help ensure hunting and shooting traditions in the Volunteer State for generations to come.  The NRA has begun collecting applications for specialized NRA license plates in Tennessee.  The Tennessee Department of Revenue, Vehicle Services will only produce the NRA license plates if it receives a minimum of 1,000 applications.  The application fee is $35.00.  Upon receiving the 1,000 applications prior to June 30, 2009, the National Rifle Association will submit a check for $35,000 to the Department of Revenue, Vehicle Services.  If you are interested in becoming one of the first NRA supporters in the State of Tennessee to receive a specialized license plate, please click here for information about the application.

WASHINGTON:  Lead Ammunition in Jeopardy in Washington State!  The lead ammunition you use for hunting as well as target and competitive shooting will be banned from purchase, use and ownership in the state of Washington if the state's Department of Ecology has its way.  Lead ammunition is a target of a series of recommendations in the "Lead Chemical Action Plan" prepared by the Department of Ecology. The plan is open for public comment until Monday, October 6.  The plan and information about submitting comments are available at: http://www.ecy.wa.gov/programs/swfa/pbt/leadcap/.  Most recently, California passed a law that prohibits hunters from using lead ammunition in areas within the range of the California condor.  Please take the time to submit comments to the Department of Ecology and to Governor Chris Gregoire (D).  Governor Gregoire can be reached by phone at (360) 902-4111, by fax at (360) 753-4110, or click here to send email.  The Governor can also be reached by U.S. Mail at: Governor Chris Gregoire, Office of the Governor, P.O.
