NRA Big Sky Self Defense

LR-130 is on the Ballot this election
It Protects our Second Amendment Rights in Big Sky Country
It’s About Your Right to Self-Defense
It’s About Your Freedom

VOTE YES on LR-130

LR-130 is on the ballot in this fall’s election for one reason and one reason only: to restore the free exercise of the right of self-defense to all law-abiding citizens throughout Montana.

For too long, local anti-gun bureaucrats have refused to recognize your freedom by instituting concealed carry restrictions beyond state law. Time and again, they usurp your rights in their quest to diminish your freedoms. It’s time for law-abiding gun owners to stand together, pass LR-130, and put an end to the constant obstruction of our Second Amendment rights.

Anti-gun localities and their backers from New York City have already begun to spread half-truths and outright falsehoods to defeat LR-130.

Gun owners throughout Montana can share the facts:

LR-130 does NOT allow felons, the mentally ill, or other prohibited persons to carry firearms anywhere or at any time.

State and federal prohibited persons categories are not changed by LR-130. If a person is prohibited from possessing a firearm under state or federal law, LR-130 will not change this prohibition.

LR-130 does NOT change which areas are prohibited or off-limits to concealed carry under state law.

Those areas subject to limitations under state law will continue to be restricted areas.

LR-130 does NOT change the requirements for a concealed carry license.

LR-130 will not change, in any way, the requirements under Montana law for a concealed carry license.

LR-130 does NOT pose a public safety risk

Violent criminals flout the law routinely. LR-130 will not change this reality. LR-130 is about restoring to responsible citizens the right to decide for themselves how to defend themselves and others against violent attack.

LR-130 DOES seek to eliminate the possibility of conflicting and inconsistent firearm regulations between one locality and the next, by prohibiting local governments from regulating the carrying of firearms in all but their own public government buildings.
