Firearms banned under this bill include certain rifles, pistols, and shotguns that were manufactured after July 1, 2024. Shotguns that hold more than seven rounds of the shortest ammunition are prohibited. Semi-automatic rifles and pistols with a fixed magazine capacity exceeding 10 rounds are prohibited. Semi-automatic rifles with detachable magazines are banned if it has one or more enumerated factors, such as a folding or collapsible stock, foregrip, sound suppressor, flash suppressor, muzzle brake, or any characteristic of the like.
House Bill 2 will now head to a Senate where it will be assigned to a policy committee for further consideration.
