Today, Monday, January 7th, the California Legislature reconvened in Sacramento for the 2019 legislative session. Lawmakers are wasting no time introducing bills to limit your Second Amendment rights in the Golden State. As previously reported, AB 18 was filed last month during organization days proposing an excise tax on handguns and semi-automatic firearms. Additionally, SB 61 was recently introduced to expand California’s one handgun a month law to apply to all firearms. This is similar legislation that was vetoed by Governor Brown. The bill introduction deadline is still weeks away and it is anticipated that many more firearm and hunting-related bills will be introduced.
