A resident confronted an armed home invader early Friday morning, leading to numerous shots fired, according to a news release from the Dane County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies were called to a residence in the town of Medina at 3:20 a.m., the release said. By time they arrived, the burglar had fled, but not before several shots were fired.
No one was injured, according to the release. The Sheriff's Office would not identify the exact location of the incident due to safety concerns.
Deputies said they believe the home was targeted and the public is not in any danger; detectives are investigating the incident.
