California: Hearing in Senate Public Safety Committee on AB 7

Assembly Bill 7, sponsored by Mike Gipson (D-64), is scheduled to be heard in the Senate Public Safety Committee on Tuesday, June 13, at 8:30 am.  Please the TAKE ACTION button below to contact the members of the Senate Public Safety Committee and urge them to OPPOSE AB 7.  In addition CALL AB 7 sponsor Assembly Member Mike Gipson at (916) 319-2064and respectfully voice your opposition.

AB 7 would further extend California’s ban on the open carry of an unloaded firearm while in or upon a public place or street within a prohibited area located within the unincorporated area of a county.   

California has some of the most stringent laws regarding the ownership and possession of a firearm and AB 7 is not about stopping or reducing firearm crime.  This legislation is about stereotyping law-abiding gun owners who are openly carrying an UNLOADED firearm as a criminal.
