On Wednesday, January 18, U. S. Representative Xavier Becerra came one step closer to becoming California’s next Attorney General. The Senate Rules committee voted 3-1, recommending Becerra be confirmed by the Senate. The full Senate is expected to take this vote as early as Monday, January 23.
As we previously reported, it’s imperative that the next Attorney General of California respect your constitutionally protected Second Amendment rights and not use the office to further diminish them. Becerra consistently voted against second amendment and hunting related interests during his tenure in congress and made clear during the committee hearing that he supports the legislature’s gun control efforts in California.
