This week, state Senator Brad Zaun (R-20) offered Senate Joint Resolution 2, a bill that offers the first consideration of a Right to Keep and Bear Arms constitutional amendment. SJR 2 was co-authored by all members of the majority Senate caucus. Forty-four states currently have Right to Keep and Bear Arms constitutional amendments. It’s time for Iowa to join these states by protecting the Second Amendment rights of Iowans in their own constitution!
