North Dakota: Pro-Gun Bills to be Heard in House Committee Tomorrow

Tomorrow, February 4, the North Dakota House Judiciary Committee will meet in the Prairie Room at 9:00 A.M. to hold hearings on the following two important pro-gun bills:

House Bill 1450: Sponsored by Representative Ben Koppelman (R-16), HB 1450 would amend the law regarding carrying and possession of firearms by clarifying language and expanding the locations where law-abiding citizens can carry.

House Bill 1457: Sponsored by Representative Karen Karls (R-35), HB 1457 would set out a procedure for the disposal of seized, abandoned or forfeited firearms in the possession of state agencies.  If the owner cannot be located or does not reclaim his or her firearm, then the firearm, so long as it is in a safe and operable condition, would have to be offered for sale at auction.  Inoperable or unsafe firearms may be destroyed by the agency or turned over to state agencies for testing, or to museums or historical societies.

Using the contact information provided below, please contact members of the House Judiciary Committee TODAY and urge them to vote in favor of HB 1450 and HB 1457.
