New NRA Life of Duty Program Honors and Assists Those Who Put Themselves in Harm’s Way

Wednesday, July 6, 2011

FAIRFAX, VA – The National Rifle Association (NRA) recently announced the launch of a bold program created exclusively for America’s military and law enforcement personnel. Called “NRA Life of Duty,” the initiative encompasses a new class of sponsored NRA membership, a state-of-the-art online network and a digital magazine—designed for those who make their living defending the American way of life.

At NRALifeOfDuty.tv, those who wear a uniform and carry a firearm can find news, discussion and support geared toward their unique line of work—be it profiles of those who share a common duty, reviews of the latest tools and equipment critical to their next mission, or a message of thanks from citizens nationwide.

NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre explained the importance of reaching out to those who put themselves in the line of fire on a daily basis. “These brave men and women wake up every morning, strap on a gun, and go to work to protect us. They are our true heroes.” LaPierre continued.

Specific content on the NRA Life of Duty network features Patriot Profiles, with broadcast-network quality stories covering those serving in uniform at home and abroad. Frontlines with LtCol Oliver North, USMC (Ret.) offers never-before-seen footage and reports with American heroes. NRA American Warrior is an exclusive digital magazine with interactive media, videos and articles detailing the latest tactics and technology. Colt’s Manufacturing has provided its support to the “Warrior Features” of the magazine.

A number of companies stepped up at the outset to support the NRA Life of Duty launch. Brownells, the world’s largest supplier of firearms accessories, has lent exceptional support as the presenting sponsor. And Brownells Law Enforcement Division—PoliceStore.com—sponsors the NRA Life of Duty Gear channel. This extensive section features high-quality photography and video of top equipment and clothing, plus a complete list of gear discounts available to NRA Life of Duty members.

Soon, the network will include Live and Listening, a regular, live commentary show; My Hometown, a place for families and friends to submit videos and stories from their hometown to those deployed; plus Archives, a channel celebrating veterans and their achievements.

Sponsor an NRA Life of Duty Membership

The NRA is now making it possible to sponsor an NRA Life of Duty membership for those serving in military and law enforcement. A $50 membership includes gear discounts, the NRA American Warrior digital magazine, as well as $25,000 in life insurance benefits for qualified NRA Life of Duty members, plus $2,500 for family travel when a loved one is wounded. Those who wish to sponsor NRA Life of Duty memberships for men and women at home and abroad can do so by visiting http://nralifeofduty.tv/sponsor or by calling 1-877-NRA-GIVE.
