Upon receiving the 1,000 applications prior to June 30, 2009, the National Rifle Association will submit a check for $35,000 to the Department of Revenue, Vehicle Services. At this time, Vehicle Services will begin processing the specialized plate, which can take up to 3 to 6 months. Upon completion of the specialized plate, the Tennessee Department of Revenue, Vehicle Services will mail a letter to each of the 1,000 applicants stating that the plate is ready to be picked up at their local
