NRA Supports Effort to Establish a Game Commission in Peru
Monday, June 11, 2007
Peru has one of the most diverse ecosystems in the world with virtually unlimited hunting opportunities that are going largely untapped. Any hunting that is done occurs in the shadows of society without scientific management or regulation. The establishment of a game commission will bring all of the successes and benefits of the North American Model of Wildlife Conservation to the citizens of Peru and its wildlife.
Established in 1975, the Institute for Legislative Action (ILA) is the "lobbying" arm of the National Rifle Association of America. ILA is responsible for preserving the right of all law-abiding individuals in the legislative, political, and legal arenas, to purchase, possess and use firearms for legitimate purposes as guaranteed by the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
