Missouri Pro-Gun Bills Making Progress!

On Thursday, May 10, the Missouri House of Representatives Special Committee on Agriculture Business unanimously passed Senate Bill 225, sponsored by Senator Bill Stouffer (R-21). SB225, the "Hunting Heritage Protection Areas Act," will protect some of our nation's most critical wildlife habitats and hunting areas by prohibiting certain development, and will prohibit localities from restricting the lawful discharge of firearms with the protected areas.  The bill should reach the floor sometime early next week.

Also, after more than two hours of floor debate in the Missouri Senate on “Castle Doctrine” self-defense legislation, Senate Bill 62, the Senate requested that this critically important legislation be referred to a conference committee. The Missouri House of Representatives has agreed to a conference committee, and we should know shortly when the committee will meet. NRA is working diligently with our allies in both chambers to ensure final passage of SB62. We will continue to inform you of any developments, as well as to alert you to any efforts that you can undertake to assist with moving this measure forward.
