Gun crime victims have criticised the Government for failing to close a loophole that allows criminals to legally buy "deactivated" firearms that can be turned back into lethal weapons within minutes. The Home Office has decided not to introduce any restrictions on deactivated guns-modified so that they cannot be fired-as part of the Violent Crime Reduction Bill, which is due to come into force early next year.
