The cockroach-sensitive group known as the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is claiming victory in the NBA`s adoption of the so-called "cruelty-free" synthetic basketball, the one causing so much fuss among the players this month. PETA`s back-slapping celebration could be as whimsical as its purported role in the basketball switch.
