On Tuesday, July 26, the Charles City County Board of Supervisors will be considering an ordinance that directly impacts your ability to hunt. The ordinance would allow the use of rifles in the county during the firearms deer season. Currently, the firearm’s deer season is limited to shotgun hunting only.
Statistics show that hunting with a rifle is no more dangerous than hunting with a shotgun. The current "shotgun only" restriction is an unnecessary limitation on your ability to hunt. Call the board of supervisors at (804) 829-2401 today and urge them to allow rifle hunting for deer.
Also, please attend the meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26 at the Government Service Center on Courthouse Road. It is important you voice your support for an ordinance, allowing rifle hunting in the county.
