General Assembly Adjourns Tomorrow at Midnight!
A Victory for Hunters and Sportsman is Within Reach!
This weekend, House Bill 1086, the Maryland Hunting Heritage Protection Act, which would ensure that there be no net loss of public hunting lands in the State, was given a favorable vote by the Senate Committee to which it was assigned. Despite efforts by Senator Jim Brochin (D-42) to kill the bill, EHEA Committee Chairwoman Paula Hollinger (D-11) cast the deciding vote, which sent the bill to the full Senate for consideration.
The Maryland General Assembly adjourns the 2005 Legislative Session tomorrow, Monday, April 11th. HB 1086 will be considered tomorrow by the full Senate. Having already passed the House, this is the last hurdle that remains for this bill, which will protect Maryland`s hunting lands for generations to come. It is critical that you call your State Senator tomorrow morning and respectfully urge them to support this important piece of legislation when it comes to the Senate floor for a vote. You can find contact information for your State Senator by using the "Write Your Representatives" feature found at www.nraila.org, or by calling the General Assembly switchboard at (410) 841-3000. Please be sure to make the call on Monday morning! Thank you!
