Important Statement from NRA Chief Lobbyist Chris W. Cox on the Oklahoma Senate Race

Monday, November 1, 2004

I am disappointed to say that the Oklahoma Democratic Party has chosen to disregard my civil word of warning.

Today, it has come to my attention that this reckless state party is making automated phone calls using a state legislator to misrepresent the National Rifle Association - Political Victory Fund’s position in this race. As a direct result, I have asked our attorneys to research our legal options. Also, the state legislator who participated in this deceptive and malicious telephone campaign will not be supported by the National Rifle Association in future political endeavors.

I had hoped that this matter could be resolved in a civil manner. Regrettably, the Oklahoma Democratic Party chose to continue a campaign of lies.
