Your calls worked! The Senate Judiciary Committee failed to take up either SB 2561 or SB 2562 -- the semi-auto and magazine bans, respectively -- which means neither met the Senate deadline for bills to come out of committee. While we still need to be wary of attempts to attach similar language as amendments throughout the legislative session, the first attempt to ban guns and magazines has fallen short. Please take the time to call the members of the Senate Judiciary Committee and thank them for respecting our Right to Keep and Bear Arms. You can find information on committee members, including contact information, by going to http://www.legis.state.il.us/senate/committees/members.asp?committeeID=67.
