Senate Democrats continue to ask the White House to consult with them on a Supreme Court nomination should a vacancy open this summer. Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) warned President Bush against bringing Democrats into the mix pre-nomination. "A minority of senators has poisoned the atmosphere, by conducting unprecedented and dangerous filibusters of judicial nominees, and by falsely accusing certain judicial nominees of falling outside the mainstream of American jurisprudence," Cornyn said in a letter to Bush.
