On Wednesday, May 9 the Assembly Appropriations Committee will consider Assembly Bill 1219, a bill mandating "personalized handgun technology"on all new handguns. AB1219 would require that all handguns manufactured and/or sold in California by 2004 be equipped with an integrated safety device allowing only a single owner to operate the firearm.
Please contact the committee members listed below and urge them to oppose AB 1219. Keep the pressure on! For two weeks now your pressure has prevented Assembly Bill 35, the handgun licensing bill from being considered in the Assembly Appropriations Committee. A hearing has now been scheduled for Wednesday, May 16. Please contact the committee members again in opposition to this legislation.
