The News Sentinel, Fort Wayne, IN, 5/10/96

Friday, November 1, 1996

A small band of Fort Wayne, Indiana, homebreakers finally learned the hazards of their activity when they came face to face with an armed citizen whose house they were attempting to enter illegally. As one resident called 911, the other, gun in hand, moved to stop the crime. After several shots, one criminal lay dead in an alley while the others ran from the scene. It was the second time in less than a month and the fifth time in 17 months a Fort Wayne citizen had used a firearm to defend himself, killing his attacker.
