Twelve-year-old Danny Holmes was on a hunting trip with his
father and two friends in the Rocky Mountains near Kimberley,
Canada, when the party came upon a grizzly bear burying a kill. As
the bear charged the foursome, Holmes, the only person carrying a
rifle, fired from 15 yds. and turned the grizzly. The boy fired
again and dropped the 500-lb. bruin, saving the group.
