After being robbed two weeks earlier, 79-year-old Daniel
White of Chicago, Ill., began carrying a gun for protection. When
the same man attacked White again, pushing him into an alley and
clubbing him with a rifle butt, the elderly man pulled his revolver
and shot the assailant fatally.
