Caution guided Robert Lee Parton to carry along his shotgun when responding to late-night callers at his farmhouse in rural Seiver County, Tenn. Two men told the father of entertainer Dolly Parton they were having car trouble and needed to use the phone. One man then attacked Parton. Though he sustained head, arm and shoulder injuries, the 62-year-old farmer was able to fire a blast from the shotgun that frightened the attackers away. Two suspects were picked up nearby within an hour.
