As he was about to enter his home in Wake Forest, N.C.,
Henry Pearson was ambushed by two men. During a struggle one of the
pair got Pearson's wallet while the other pistol-whipped him.
Finally Pearson was able to get his .22 revolver out of his pocket,
and he started shooting. One of the attackers fell dead, and the
other man ran away.
