Mississippi: Join House Speaker Philip Gunn at an Event Near You

Monday, September 22, 2014

Thank Him for Working to Place a Constitutional Right to Hunt and Fish Amendment on the November 4 Ballot

This week, Mississippi House Speaker Philip Gunn will conduct a listening tour across the state, seeking input on a wide range of issues from concerned citizens, including Mississippi gun owners and sportsmen.  Speaker Gunn is a staunch and outspoken supporter of our Second Amendment rights and the state's rich hunting heritage.  He provided key leadership to ensure passage of NRA-supported House Concurrent Resolution 30 in 2012 by state Representatives Bubba Carpenter, Charles Busby and Scott DeLano, and state Senator Giles Ward.  HCR 30 placed an amendment on the 2014 general election ballot establishing an individual constitutional right to hunt and fish.  This important safeguard will ensure that future wildlife conservation and management decisions are based on sound science and will protect the state’s strong sporting heritage for generations to come.  For more information on Amendment 1, visit www.nraila.org/RightToHuntMS.

Please attend one of these events near you and thank Speaker Gunn for standing up for Mississippi sportsmen and for his critical role in supporting this important NRA-backed measure through the legislative process.  Each meeting lasts one hour and is open to the public and media.
