Senate Bill 448 by Senator Greg Evers was heard by the Senate Judiciary Committee. Prior to completion of testimony and the amendatory process, the committee ran out of time and the bill was held over for completion at the next meeting.
SB-448 is a bill to stop abusive prosecutors from using 10-20-LIFE to prosecute people who, in self-defense, threaten to use deadly force against an attacker as a means to stop an attack.

House Bill 209 by Representative Heather Fitzenhagen was heard in the House Criminal Justice Committee
HB-209 is a bill to protect citizens from being disarmed and charged with a crime for carrying a weapon or firearm during a mandatory evacuation ordered by the Governor during a declared state of emergency. This bill PASSED by a VOTE of 12 to 1.
