Illinois: Sweeping Bans on Commonly Owned Firearms and Magazines Will be Considered in the House Next Week
Posted on March 1, 2013
Tomorrow, as previously reported by NRA-ILA here, your state Representative will be considering a bill to bring Right to Carry to Illinois, as ordered by the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit in Shepard v. Madigan. House Bill 1155, a bill sponsored by Representative Michael Madigan (D-22) will be among the legislation considered tomorrow, and Right to Carry amendments will most likely be offered to this shell bill. Anti-gun legislators like Rep. Mike Madigan have been trying to sabotage efforts to strengthen recognition of Second Amendment rights in Illinois, and can be expected to offer hostile amendments to House Bill 1155 which would contain weak and incredibly flawed carry provisions.
House Speaker Mike Madigan continues to force votes on dozens of amendments filed on shell bills in an effort to build his own omnibus gun control bill. Your state Representative needs to hear from you NOW! Due to Madigan’s trickery and forceful behavior, votes on these amendments have been too close for comfort.
