Good news and bad news folks!
GOOD NEWS - The so-called "gun show loophole" ordinance is dead -- for now. Enjoy the moment.
BAD NEWS - The Commission, after killing the gun control ordinance, elected an anti-gun Chairman, Kristen Dozier and anti-gun Vice-Chairman, Mary Ann Lindley.
Following the vote to withdraw the gun ordinance from further discussion, newly elected Chairman Kristen Dozier said, “I’m not opposed to any sort of gun control but it would need to have meaning.”
REMEMBER THAT -- Kristen Dozier is "not opposed to any sort of gun control."
Dozier is bolstered by an equally anti-gun Vice Chairman, Mary Ann Lindley and Attorney Roy Blondeau, an apparent operative for the Leon County Democratic Party, who was "not happy" with the vote and pledged, "discussions will continue."
Does that mean Mr. Blondeau will continue his behind the scenes use of the County Attorney's time and resources despite the fact the Commission has essentially said stop? Will staff continue to use taxpayer funded resources to continue discussions on an issue the Commission has killed?
Time will tell. Keep up your vigilance and keep up your conversations with your Commissioners. And once again, thank you for standing up for your rights.
