Virginia: Goochland County Planning Commission to Discuss Shooting Range Application

Monday, September 17, 2012

On Thursday, September 20 at 7:00 PM, the Goochland County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to discuss an application for a sporting clays range at the Orapax Hunting Preserve.

Unfortunately, the Orapax Hunting Preserve is facing opposition from neighboring landowners who claim this range would decrease their quality of life and property values.  This is despite the fact that the sporting clays range will be positioned on nearly a 700-acre hunting preserve—a mile away from the closest neighbor.

If you live in Goochland County or have an interest in this range, please show your support for the Orapax Hunting Preserve by attending this public hearing!  Click here to view a copy of Thursday’s Agenda.

This public hearing will be held in the Board Meeting Room in the Goochland County Administration Building located at 1800 Sandy Hook Road in Goochland.

If you cannot attend this hearing in person, please voice your support for the sporting clays range by contacting members of the Goochland County Planning Commission listed below, or by clicking here
