Earlier this year, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission voted unanimously to legalize suppressor use while hunting all game animals. As reported here by NRA-ILA, this decision came after the Commission considered the benefits associated with suppressor use, including increased accuracy associated with reduced recoil and muzzle blast, protection from hearing damage and reduced noise pollution. This law will take effect on September 1, 2012.
Click here to read a summary of game laws for 2012-2013 that will also take effect on this date. Mention of the rule change for hunting with suppressors can be found under "Means and Methods" on Page 59. Note that all federal, state and local laws regarding possession of these devices still apply.
