Dear Tennessee NRA Member,
As some of you know, I started lobbying on Capitol Hill for the NRA in 1995. Since 2002, I have had the privilege to serve as Executive Director of NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action, the NRA’s legislative and political arm. You may also know that I grew up in Jackson, attended college in Memphis, and while I no longer live in Tennessee, it will always be my home.
Thanks to your support, we’ve beaten back countless attacks on our Second Amendment freedoms and hunting heritage across the country, and we’ve advanced the rights of Tennessee’s gun owners and sportsmen. Despite the many challenges that lie ahead, we have much to be proud of as NRA members. And now, we have another way to show our pride in NRA and America’s first freedom by obtaining an NRA specialty license plate.
To make the NRA specialty license plate a reality, we need to receive 1000 applications before June 30, 2009, the minimum requirement set forth by the Tennessee Department of Revenue, Vehicle Services. The fee for the application is a one time payment of $35.00. After we receive 1000 applications, we will forward the applications and a check for $35,000 to the Department of Revenue, Vehicle Services for processing. Once we reach our goal, it still may take three to six months before you can pick up your new NRA license plates at your local County Clerk’s office. The NRA receives no money from this program and all the money raised through the purchase of the NRA specialty license plates will be directed to the Tennessee Scholastic Clay Target Program.
If you are interested in becoming one of the first NRA supporters in Tennessee to receive an NRA specialty license plate, please send us your completed application and a check for $35.00 made payable to NRA-ILA. You may download a copy of the application by visiting http://www.nraila.org/media/PDFS/tn_NRA_plate.pdf.
Please submit your application, along with the $35.00 application fee, before June 30, 2009 to:

If you have any questions, please call the NRA-ILA Grassroots Division at (800) 392-8683(VOTE) and please keep a copy of your order form for your records. Future updates on the Tennessee NRA license plates will be posted to www.NRAILA.org.
We need your help to make the NRA license plate a reality in the Volunteer State. Don’t miss this opportunity to show your pride in NRA and your support for the Second Amendment by obtaining an NRA license plate. Thanks again for your support.
Yours in Freedom,
Chris W. Cox
Executive Director, NRA-ILA
