Gun Ban Bill to Be Heard by Hawaii Legislature!

Wednesday, February 27, 2008

Please Contact Members of the Committee and Urge Them to Oppose HB2999!

House Bill 2999, sponsored by State Representative Blake Oshiro (D-33), has been resurrected and has been slated for a hearing before the House Judiciary Committee on Thursday, February 28.  This bill was considered dead for the legislative session, however the Honolulu Police Department stepped in and asked that it be revived.  HB2999 would ban the sale and possession of .50 caliber rifles and ammunition in Hawaii and is simply another baseless assault on our Right to Keep and Bear Arms.

This bill could have the votes to get out of committee, so it is vital that NRA members continue to put pressure on the members of the House Judiciary Committee listed below, by appearing at the committee hearing at the Capitol Building, or through email and phone calls.  The hearing will be held at 2:50 p.m. in conference room 325 on Thursday, February 28th.
